Firestone PondGard EPDM is a rubber geomembrane, specifically designed for decorative pond applications, providing a highly durable lining solution for your water feature.
Firestone PondGard EPDM is a high quality synthetic rubber geomembrane which is designed to withstand the test of time. PondGard EPDM is an inert material, offering excellent resistance to UV exposure, high temperatures, oxidation and frost, thus retaining its performance characteristics for countless years, even when exposed to the weather.
Flexible and elastic
Firestone PondGard EPDM conforms well over many types of support. The highly flexible geomembrane adapts to the creativity of designers, regardless of the complexity of the pond, resulting in optimal aesthetic results.
With a thickness of 1.0 mm, Firestone PondGard EPDM is a robust geomembrane with mechanical properties that are perfectly adapted to the challenges related to water containment. PondGard EPDM’s elasticity (> 300%) and flexibility (even down to -45° C) allow it to adapt to atmospheric temperature changes, subsequent settlement of the support and to the irregularities of the substrate (with excellent puncture resistance) throughout its life.
Quick and easy installation
The installation and assembly of the Firestone PondGard EPDM geomembrane is extremely simple, delivering a perfect finish. The Firestone accessories enable waterproof details in even the most intricate situations.
No electrical tools (hot air guns etc.) are required and the number of seams is limited due to the large dimensions of the EPDM sheets (from 93 m² up to 930 m² in a single sheet). Even after many years of use, Firestone PondGard membranes can be reassembled in case of any adjustment or repair of the pond.
Thanks to its chemically inert nature and resistance to algae and micro-organisms, the Firestone PondGard EPDM geomembrane does not release chemicals into the environment. Furthermore, tests carried out by the Water Research Centre in the United Kingdom (WRc) show that it is not hazardous to aquatic fauna.
